Corrine Strubel

LPC | Licensed Professional Counselor

As a Counselor, I would consider myself compassionate, empathetic, and intuitive. I believe that therapy is collaborative and I use a person-centered approach when working on goals, needs, and aspirations. In other words, I believe in meeting clients where they are at and building on skills and techniques that they would find helpful based on their experiences. I also like to utilize humor and reference pop culture, when appropriate, as a way to help navigate many of life's pressures and expectations.

Life presents many challenges, both positive and negative, and having someone there to help can be transformative. While working as an outpatient counselor at an addiction recovery facility, many clients enter therapy feeling stuck and wanting to make changes but often feel like they do not know how to start. I can help guide clients on how to address these issues and implement change. I like to focus on both building up my clients' self-awareness and self-esteem while also providing tools to cope with the many life-stressors and relationships that we face in our daily environment.

I have experience working with a variety of clients that have unique and diverse needs such as managing anxiety, depression, life transitions, addiction and recovery, couples work, as well as grief and loss. I am adept at working in-person and through telehealth, as well as possessing the ability to quickly build rapport in both settings. I challenge my clients to be reflective of their goals and what changes they want to make in their daily lives to feel more aligned. I offer a variety of therapeutic approaches to help clients feel unstuck while also learning how to set boundaries and build motivation within themselves. I utilize clinical approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Harm Reduction, Talk Therapy, Attachment- Based Therapy, Mindfulness, and the Gottman method (Couples).

Talking about your emotions and struggles can be difficult, but my hope is to create an environment where my clients feel comfortable developing and practicing those skills. Whether you're new to therapy or have tried it before, I am excited to help you explore your goals. Life is a journey and so is therapy, so please feel free to reach out with questions on how I can help you meet your
