My approach to therapy is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in respect for autonomy, diversity, and lived experience. I approach therapy with both seriousness and humanity, believing growth can involve hard work, humor, and compassion. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel supported, empowered, and free from pressure to perform or “have it all figured out.”

Together, we’ll explore patterns that may be contributing to distress, build insight and practical skills, and develop more flexible ways of responding to life’s challenges. I practice from a person-centered contextual dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) lens with a systems influence from an affirming perspective. This means that I work with clients and have them be the driver of identifying the areas they want to work on and then provide support, structure and challenges in ways that are clinically appropriate. I look to uncover patterns that have been present in your life and help you to develop skills to break down these patterns and make lasting changes. My work often incorporates mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance, alongside approaches such as Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Gestalt Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In work related to eating disorders and body image, I draw from Health at Every Size (HAES) and mindful eating perspectives, focusing on the role that food and body image have played in the clients life and finding other areas that provide them with a more adaptive sense of control. In my work with couples, I tend to utilize EFT for couples and Gottman Method couples therapy depending on the couple’s concerns and preferences.

In sessions, clients often describe my style as warm, collaborative, and gently challenging. I balance validation with curiosity and direct feedback, always at a pace that feels manageable and respectful. I welcome feedback. If something isn’t working for you, I encourage us to talk about it openly. I believe therapy works best when power is shared. You are the expert on your own experiences, and my role is to offer guidance, skills, and perspective, not to tell you who to be or what to choose.

I tend to work well with clients who are curious about themselves, willing to explore deeper processing and connecting to their emotions, open to skill-building, and interested in understanding patterns rather than quick fixes. If you are looking for a highly directive approach or immediate solutions without reflection or skill practice, my style may not be the best match.

I provide individual therapy to clients aged 18+, couples therapy for all types of relationship structures and to couples at varying stages in their relationship, and I provide sex therapy to both individual clients and in my couples work.

Areas of interest: Eating disorders, Body Image, Couples Therapy, LGBTQ+, Identity, Personality Disorders, DBT, Trauma, Sex Therapy, Anxiety, Depression, and OCD. I utilize modalities of DBT, EFT, CBT-E, Gestalt, Gottman, and more.

I offer both in-person and teletherapy services.

I accept Aetna, Cigna, & IBX insurances.
