Hi! My name is Kathleen, but please call me Katie!

It takes a lot of strength and will power to seek counseling and I understand how vulnerable and overwhelming you may feel. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

I strive to treat the therapeutic relationship, and you, with compassion, respect, and warmth. My counseling style is engaging and person-first. It is important to me to be able to collaborate with you and meet you where you are at in each interaction by incorporating different therapeutic techniques. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, person-centered, trauma informed, and solution focused. Identifying and setting your goals is a team-effort, and together we will work at your comfort level to effectively establish and achieve goals that are tailored to your life while developing healthy skills that encouraging self-discovery.

I have a Master’s Degree in Professional Clinical Counseling from LaSalle University. I also hold credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2015. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns; including depression anxiety, substance use disorders, trauma, grief, life transitions, and more. As a standard practice, I approach the therapeutic relationship with an acute sensitivity and respect for multi/cross-cultural factors and influence. 

Outside of my career, I enjoy being outdoors. I enjoy taking walks along trails and parks. I've played sports for as long as I can remember and currently play softball on weekends. As a full time employee and a mom of two youngsters, I understand the challenges of maintaining a healthy balance in life! I strongly advocate the concept of self-care and finding an overall balance in one's life to strive for healthier lifestyles!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I strive to make the therapeutic interaction as a "team-effort." I am in this journey with you and together we will address the goals that you are wanting to achieve. With each session, I encourage one to identify a goal (or more) that they would like to work on in between sessions. There are times where I may provide additional resources such as an article to read or a homework assignment, to discuss for the next session.

My approach combines and incorporates a variety of techniques that are evidence-based. I find myself utilizing cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, person centered, trauma informed, and solution focused.
