Maegan D’Amato

LCSW | Licensed Clinical Social Worker

It is human nature to try and create understanding of the situations we experience, for once we understand what the experience is, what we feel and why we feel it, we can begin to take back our control. I believe that it is from this space that we can then begin to heal; to create necessary change and grow. As a therapist, it is my goal to help move you through the power of “why?” so that you may gain understanding, take back your control, and heal.

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and certified sex therapy-informed practitioner (CSTIP) with over a decade of experience working with young adults and adults (ages 18-65+).

In addition to my clinical training, I am a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), a mindfulness meditation teacher, a certified Usui Reiki Level I practitioner, and have certification in somatic-based trauma treatment and trauma sensitive yoga.

For my clients who are interested, I welcome the opportunity to use these complementary and alternative therapies to aid and enhance your self-discovery and healing. My approach to therapy is warm and compassionate, utilizing somatic- and mindfulness-based interventions and the therapeutic relationship as vehicles for healing. I also rely on humor, honesty, and open feedback in our work together.

I work with individuals and couples. I offer therapy to people looking to gain insight with complex trauma, sexuality and gender (kink/BDSM, poly and ethical nonmonogamous/CNM relationships, LGBTQIA+), anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, and difficulty navigating life transitions. I also have specialized experience working with artists and creatives. I welcome and celebrate diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, sex workers, those living alternative lifestyles, and people with disabilities.

I accept Aetna, Cigna, Highmark, Quest, & United/Optum Insurances.
