Margaret (Maggie) Dickinson
Hi, my name is Maggie!
Sometimes in order to help yourself, you have to talk to someone else about what you’re going through. Having an unbiased presence to listen and empathize as you explore your situation can make all the difference. I'm here to provide this safe space for you. My job is to help you help yourself! I strive to create a warm, open, collaborative space welcoming vulnerability and growth. Whether you are anxious about a recent transition, looking to make a change, working to get to know yourself, or struggling with relationships, we will work together to achieve your goals. Together, we will work to understand your emotions, discover new insights, and make positive changes!
I also work with couples who want to work on their relationship by improving communication, deepening understanding, and strengthening their friendship. I use several emotion-focused and Gottman techniques to help you achieve these goals.
My specialties are:
-Anxiety & Depression
-Self-Exploration & Self-Esteem
-Life transitions
-Relationships, emotional intimacy, and boundaries
My approach to therapy is based on cognitive-behavioral, emotion-focused, relational, narrative, and person-centered therapies, but is tailored to fit your specific goals. A good fit between the client and the therapist is one of the most important factors in therapy. If you want to schedule a short conversation to make sure I am the right therapist for you, please reach out.
A little about me – I spend my time outside the office getting outdoors for a nice hike or picnic, exploring the city, or cooking a nice meal and watching a classic movie. I have the cutest anxiety-prone dog in Philly!
I accept Aetna & Cigna Insurances.
I offer in-person therapy in Fishtown & Teletherapy.
