Mariel Little

LMFT | Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Hello! Welcome to my bio and congratulations on making this powerful step in obtaining your personal goals. I hope that my bio can answer the question “will I connect with this therapist?”. You are ultimately the expert of your journey and my expectation is to be a collaborative support through your growth.

Coming from a two culture household, I’ve been fascinated by how we have multi-cultural conversations. These conversations make our identity multifaceted and full of nuances. Ultimately our identities are influenced by our many relationships. These relationships can be defined by many aspects; our family of origin, our chosen family, and our outside communities. When culture clashes it can create a lot of hard feelings. That clash can feel shaming and demoralizing.  Sometimes, how we self-identify becomes disrupted and hard to recognize. A disconnection from ourselves and others can occur in that process of change. Through a collaborative approach, I offer support in reconnecting to what feels lost or unresolved while honoring individual contextual and cultural factors.

I use trauma-informed techniques from contextual-therapy, narrative-therapy and attachment-based therapy. I want to help people find their identity as an individual, a family, and as a couple. I continue to grow my practice to fit the needs of my client and will continue to be open to feedback throughout our therapeutic relationship.
