LPC | Licensed Professional Counselor

Hello. A little about me and my approach...

I believe therapy can be useful to not only support you when life has been hard but also if you want to shape an even “better” life. Together, we look at what’s going well and what could be going better. We explore how to support your wellness and mental health.  If it’s helpful, we may explore the role of certain thoughts, feelings, behaviors, goals, and the way the world treats us. Through this process, if it’s useful, we may explore how you’ve been affected by the past, how to be well in the present, and/or how to plan for the future.

I use a range of tools and modalities to try and help all kinds of different folks with different problems or goals (some listed below). I welcome and celebrate diversity, including diversity of thought and lifestyles. I believe in outcomes and want to help support and empower you to move closer to your mental health and wellness goals.

I am a person who likes laughter, travel, the sound of moving water, spending time with my people, children, and walks. I am non-binary, mixed race, and have lived around the country. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in PA, NJ and Illinois, and a Board-Certified Counselor, with a master’s in counseling psychology.

As a person who was helped to heal through therapy, I became a therapist to help others heal and more closely realize the lives they imagine for themselves. I’ve worked in health and human services for over 20 years with experience in clinical work, child and family services, domestic and interpersonal abuse, and co-occurring recovery.  I’ve worked with individuals, intimate partners, families, groups, adults, children, and teens.

I provide trauma-informed therapy which builds on a person’s strengths. The clinical modalities and strategies I use depend on the person and the needs they present. They include, but and are not limited to, aspects of Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, & Narrative Therapy.

Thanks for reading. I wish you well with your health and happiness.
