Jamie Serlin, LSW

LSW | Licensed Social Worker (In supervision toward clinical licensure with Deanna Ingle, LCSW)

Life is full of ups and downs, but when we find ourselves feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or repeating unhelpful patterns, therapy can be a valuable tool for finding clarity and making positive change.

As a therapist, my goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can come as you are and work toward building the life you want. No matter your circumstances, I believe everyone has the capacity for healing and personal growth. You are the expert in your own experience, and my approach is focused on helping you identify what is important to you and working together to overcome any obstacles on the way to achieving your goals.

My practice integrates elements of both cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), evidence-based approaches that focus on fostering greater awareness of thoughts and beliefs and how they influence our behavior. This includes exploring how larger systems and cultural contexts shape our values, beliefs, and experiences in both helpful and unhelpful ways.

My style is collaborative, warm, and direct. While sessions are tailored to your individual needs, I strive to bring curiosity, compassion, humor and honest, constructive feedback to the work we do together. I work with a variety of issues and am especially passionate about supporting individuals and couples who are grappling with major life transitions—from job changes to new parenthood—as well as those struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, and relationship difficulties.

Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or just the beginning of a new chapter, it takes courage to reach out and ask for help. I commend you for taking this step for yourself, and I look forward to meeting you and seeing if we are a good fit.

I am available for telehealth and in-person appointments.

I accept Aetna, Cigna, & IBX insurances.
